<p>California’s Senate Bill No. 553 (SB 553) is a significant legislative stride towards fostering safer workplace environments across various sectors in California. This law, signed into effect by Governor Gavin Newsom on September 30, 2023, establishes a new written Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) requirement for nearly all California employers. The law becomes enforceable on July 1, 2024 and does not have any built-in grace period.</p>
